A Moment in March 2002 Life takes me away. I arrive in Egypt, Shame el Shake – Dahab the town of gold. With its beach full of rich people vibrant prays waking me up & rocking me to sleep. The sun came to see me the first morning it seemed to be laying a path across the red sea rising in Saudi Arabia. We Arrived by Taxi – Sean Connery at the wheel, flying through the stars in our Peugeot 504. We stopped in the desert to see the horizon it was breath taking, my wonder come true, my dream real & space/stars at the end of my fingertip. We stay in Mohammad Ali’s place, he gives us something each night, the girls dream of boys & fishes while I keep watch over the sky’s for aliens & signs of extra ordinary activity. There will be flies in heaven now I know & of course god I’m sure, will never free us from mosquitoes, an impossible task. Josephine is scared Nova will be kidnapped & I think Nova secretly hopes she will be, an easy task I think. They have a plague of cats & a plague of flies & a plague of builders all hammering away seemingly multiplying in front of your eyes. The pavement grows here, you sleep & the next day the pavement is longer, there are buildings & staircases appearing in front of your eyes. Now I am sitting in a bar the shape of a ship drinking Stella beer & listening to the prays of alla mixed in with Bob Marley, House & Manu Chow, very strange. We snorkel today or was it last week, my second day & time has
collapsed in like a dieing star. The girls go diving while I as normal sit & think & write about fly’s & stuff. In a few days we pilgrim to Mount Sinai, I hope to climb the 4000 steps of redemption – Fantastico, excelenta, princi princi & dora dora. The fish forget to swim they fly in the air, the cats forget to meow & just say wow wow - & again I turn & the pavement is bigger. Dahab/Red Sea/Egypt/Ship Bar – March 2002
